FAQ

What is the minimum word count for writers?
Writers are expected to write a minimum of 5k words for each fic. You are more than welcome to write more than this though!
What is expected of the artists?
Artists should have at least 1 piece of art to go with their assigned fic. You are more than welcome to create more if you wish!
What is the drop out policy?
We understand things may come up that may require participants to drop from the bang. If you wish to drop, please open a ticket! The last day to drop in good standing is June 1st. If you drop out after this date it may result in a soft ban from future events.
How does matching work?
Writers are asked to submit a pitch that is no more than two paragraphs in length. Along with this they will be able to list the prospective categories (NSFW, SFW, DD) and any additional tags or content warnings. The moderators will compile all of the submissions into a Google Sheet anonymously and artists will be asked to select their top 5 choices. The moderators will match partners based on these choices. However, we can not guarantee your first choice, so make sure you are happy to do art for all of the pitches that you selected! You will then be added into a private team channel with your partner where you can coordinate your work.
What if no one selects my pitch?
Do not worry! Every participant in the mini bang is guaranteed to have a match. If there is an uneven ratio of artists to writers, artists may be asked to complete art for more than one fic. Pinch hitters may be called on if your partner drops from the event at any time.
What do I do if there is someone I do not want to work with?
If there is someone in the event who you do not wish to be matched with, including artists, writers, and betas, there will be a section to confidentially disclose this to moderators during the matching process.
Can I partner with X?
In order to make things fair for everyone and to keep the spirit of the event, we keep writer pitches anonymous and match partners who may not know each other. We cannot guarantee you will get to work with a certain writer/artist.
How do check-ins work?
Teams are sorted into "pods" and there is a certain moderator who heads each one. During each check-in, you will check in with that moderator in your team channel. All we ask is for a sign of life and a WIP if one is available. If you miss a check-in, the moderators will attempt to contact you to make sure everything is alright.
How does posting work?
At the end of the event, starting on July 1, participants may begin to post their works on AO3 and on Twitter. There will be a collection made on AO3 and a hashtag to post under on Twitter. We encourage you to coordinate a posting schedule with your partner(s) so you can post around the same time and help promote each other. Writers may embed the art piece from their artist into their fic if they wish to do so.
